Description
I had the bare bones of this fantasy scene in my head for days. but even I didn't know how it would look exactly when it was complete. I love the idea of disconnected architecture like this beautiful Victorian Tower.
It seemed so fitting to plant this castle-like tower in the clouds. After all Victorian architecture was romantic. It was an era when builders looked back at Medieval Gothic architecture for influence and what they came up with was not your great, great, great grandfather's Gothic but the best architecture of the day wrapped in a beautiful costume.
When I started looking for inspiration for my tower in the air, I went through a lot of buildings as I looked through my archives. Most of them were from Europe, but in the end, I spotted this beautiful tower from the old WIndsor Hotel in Americus, Georgia. The castle-like round tower was precisely what I was hunting!
Doesn't it remind you of a fairy tale? Perhaps even the most famous caste in the air, the one from Jack and the Beanstalk!
Off to build more castles in the sky for me!
