Description
I based this off a photo I took of the famous castle in the Western Highlands. Eilean Donan is said to be one of the most photographed castles in Britain. And it has an incredibly classic look to it. That may be in part because when it was rebuilt in the 20th century there weren't any great images upon which to base the reconstruction of the ruined castle. So, it's very likely we have a somewhat romanticized modern view of what a medieval Scottish castle should be?
Whatever the case, the beauty of it shining upon Loch Duich on a winter's night was enough to convince me that I would make my way back here some day. Even though it's been heavily photographed already, I want the opportunity to capture it from more angles. Although i have to say, I do think I put my own stamp on this one! If I should never make it back to Eilean Donan again, perish the though, I'd be happy with the results of my lone visit to that fabled island castle!
