Description
I learned on my first trip to Scotland that the weather can change by the minute. The second trip, when I visited Holyrood Palace, confirmed that once more. The weather between entering and exiting the royal palace was literally almost night and day. The skies when I went in side were dark and foreboding. When I came out, as you can see, the clouds had cleared and you could almost imagine by the sunlight alone it was a spring day! The cheerful clouds were a prelude for the storms that night I fear, but that's another story.
I was quite thankful for this moment of beautiful light. It really played up the 17th century architecture of Holyrood Palace at the bottom of the famous Royal Mile in Edinburgh. It kind of felt like a fairytale castle in this light and that was what led me to a more whimsical piece of photo art for this iconic and beautiful Scottish palace.
