Description
I took so many walks across the Brooklyn Bridge on my first trip, but it was the last walk where the light was just right to capture some of the architecture of Brooklyn. It may not be populated with massive skyscrapers like Manhattan across the river, but I for one love historic buildings and kudos to Brooklyn for re-using their old structures!
These two beautiful buildings were, believe it or not, warehouses at the turn of the last century. We sure don't build industrial buildings with that kind of style and detail today do we?
Today these old warehouses have a new life as lofts in the DUMBO historic district, and I bet a century ago, the workers there had no idea that one day people would live there, eh?
Beautiful light and great skies, my favorite time to photograph anything, and of all those trips across, it was the only time I photographed these historic buildings, when the elements were there to make it a photo that shines... Maybe you've seen and appreciated these vintage buildings, too? Or maybe you call them home?
