The fields at Culloden were simply ethereal. It's absolutely one of those place i won't forget. The landscape alone was beautiful. But I also had a haunting feeling standing there. I don't know how much of it was genuinely the place versus the stories we'd heard about the last battle in the Jacobite rebellion that took place here.
And yet, the moors couldn't have been more beautiful on that winter day, golden and orange hues mixing in the grasses beneath a dramatic blue sky. It was a landscape that simply begged to be captured and remembered for the incredible natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
I can't imagine a more beautiful memorial to the people who fought for their dreams on the moors at Culloden all those years ago.
