Description

This picture of a rusted tractor in a field in rural Georgia will always hold some special places in my heart. In part, because it simply reminds me of home. The picture was taken on the outskirts of Montezuma, Georgia. I spotted the old tractor rusting in a field as if it had been put out to pasture. It was a late autumn day and the skies, and the grasses... well, the colors were just a perfect complement to the rusty red metals. It was a farming scene that just had to be captured.

The second reason this old tractor will always be special is because it later won an award for best in show in a local art contest for scenes from Macon County. At that point, I was still a hobbyist and it was admittedly a huge boost to my ego and one of many reason that I continued to push to make more art.

Pretty amazing that an old rusty tractor in a rural farm field could be part of the impetus to push someone in a new direction in their lives, isn't it?
