As we roamed around the Culloden Battlefields, the natural beauty of this little slice of the Scottish Highlands was readily apparent even on a winter's day. Yet, I think a lot of the stories I heard about that last battle of the Jacobite rebellions intertwined with my thoughts. This picture is one example. There's always been something about this photograph of a few lone trees on the moors at Culloden that felt resolute to me, like a band of brothers standing tall together.
Entirely my imagination or do you feel that, too?
Whether you see a Scottish landscape or a reminder of Scots history, I have to say that ultimately I loved the symmetry of this highland scene and it only felt right to me in a square format. And no matter what, I think that this image will always speak of camaraderie for me.
