Description
I walked the nature trails around Vickery Creek in Roswell, Georgia, rather frequently while I lived in the area. It was always an enjoyable walk and felt quite apart from the urban area that surrounded it.
But it was in fall that the area spoke to me most. In fact, I could say that about much of North Georgia. It was fall when the autumn colors really dominated the landscapes. It was a time when it almost felt like walking into an old but brightly colored painting.
So, it's perhaps natural that the scenic images that still speak to me from my time walking along those trails are the ones drenched in fall color. This one is looking up Vickery Creek to the old mill dam. As beautiful and old as those falls are, they aren't really natural, but they've been part of the landscape here in Roswell so long that it has an air of time immemorial to it, doesn't it?
Sigh, I can feel the cool autumn air and hear the thundering water coming over the falls ahead of me even now. I loved fall in North Georgia.
