Description
Tallulah Gorge in North Georgia is one of those places that I have longed to see again one day. My first visit there several years ago involved a very early morning drive with the hope of arriving by sunrise.
And I succeeded! At least it was sunrise when I arrived at the edge of the old canyon and got my first views of the autumn color in the trees in that beautiful landscape. By the time I got to head down into the canyon, the best of the light was passing, but I have never regretted that early morning drive. Would you?
What I loved most about the canyon is the truly timeless feeling one has looking down into Tallulah Gorge. From what I've read the canyon was cut by the river so long ago that it's truly an ancient landscape, one that houses a unique ecosystem. So perhaps standing there looking down is as close as we'll get to time travel, looking back into the pages of time long ago....
How many autumns? How many sunrises? I'm glad nature saved a good one for my visit to Tallulah Gorge! This vibrant artwork is based off my photos of the morning sun rising over the horizon with soft mists rising over the river below.
