Description
There was one scene with the Eiffel Tower that I had in mind as I walked the streets. I think it was reminscent of some photo or movie scenes I've seen before with the iconic Eiffel Tower. Or perhaps it was a painting of an impossible view. I'm not sure, but I never quite found it. I have a feeling perhaps that perspective might be found from a top floor apartment nearby or maybe it's even aerial.
Whatever the case, this was as near to that mental image as I got, and there's a part of me that's never satisfied unless I find just what I was looking for, but I'm still proud of this attempt. It's very much a Parisian scene with a cafe on the corner, a very Euro-French looking block of buildings, and of course the landmark known around the world, Tour Eiffel!
And, I've layered this image with many textural layers. I wanted to create a vintage feel. My Mom's late brother visited Europe years ago and one of our keepsakes all these years has been a Parisian street scene. Not one that included the tower, but was still instantly Parisian in flavor. I was definitely channeling that old print that has hung on the wall for years. I wanted a vintage feel to this piece.
