Description
Colonial Williamsburg is one of those places that every time I look back on my pictures from my short stay there, I want to return. It helps that I am something of an armchair historian. I love reading about history and exploring the past.
And Colonial Williamsburg is a first rate stop for those interested in American history. Many of the buildings are original and the ones that aren't were rebuilt faithfully. I couldn't speak to this particular building because years later, I'm not even sure what building it was. I just remember standing in Colonial Williamsburg at night. I was waiting for an evening tour to start when I spotted this lady in colonial garb sitting in yon window. I loved the glow of the warm lights inside and the lantern near the window. The warm gold contrasted so nicely with the bluer tones of the wood siding at night.
When I edited this particular image, I decided I wanted to make it look like an old painting or illustration, so I added a number of textures to give it a vintage feel, like something grandma ay have had hanging in her parlor for generations. Maybe even something of great, great grandma's vintage.
