Description
My memories of Granada is very much of it being a city of colors. From the homes to the city's cathedral itself. The golden yellow church seen here is the city's cathedral.
From what I read there has been a cathedral on this site going back to the 16th century but it has been rebuilt many times over with reasons for its destruction ranging from war to natural disasters. The last rebuilding was in the 20th century and is neoclassical in style.
I particularly loved the clean plain lines of the church, with its circles and squares and arches building towards the sky. There was just something very pleasing about the proportions don't you think?
I think it was also those lines, almost like an illustration, that guided me in my presentation of this piece of Granada's architectural heritage.
