Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. There's just something about the cool style of the fifties! I guess the cars today are probably more aerodynamic but the retro cool of those fins on a '57 Chevy are the best! I wanted to do some work featuring a '57 Chevy because my grandfather drove one. His was dark green and a sedan, which you can plainly see this one is not, but I felt this blue color scheme and style fit better with the overall piece. And I can always tackle one like his another day!
