Even though I'm not British, it feels strange having a fixture like Queen Elizabeth gone from the landscape. Presidents changed, all the world leaders of my childhood faded from view for the most part. And when I was born she had been on the throne for decades already. So it feels like an unrequested change and life is full of those. At any rate, I hope you enjoy my take on this. I decided to depict her reunited with Prince Phillip and one of her many corgis. The rainbow backdrop was inspired by the ones that appeared over Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle on the day she died.

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist.
