There's something about this scene from the Pont des Arts over the River Seine that will always say Parisian to me.
Maybe it's simply because it mirrored my own experience. A beautiful winter afternoon in the sun. I had been walking and stopped for a snack on the Pont des Arts which crosses the Seine to the Louvre (in the background of this black and white photo). As I looked up, on the next bench over, there was a gentleman in the midst of his own meal, baguettes and all. Of course, I think they were all much more smartly dressed than I was, but that's what made it Parisian!
Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple.
