I took multiple photos of the beautiful Napoleon Courtyard of the Louvre after I came out of the museum into the dark winter night. I've said before that I love the eclectic mixing of architectural styles and the Louvre certainly fits the bill. Just look at that glowing glass pyramid entrance and the baroque style of the renaissance palace. Fantastic! When they had to construct a new entrance for the crowds, it came down to a hidden entrance or something truly different. There's no way you would have found an entrance that was sympathetic to the original architecture while still allowing the volume of people to pass through that was required. I'm glad that they chose different.
Why of all those night photos of the Louvre is this one of my favorite? Just take a peek at the modern day ghosts I found!
