Artist's Description

I had been in the city of Galway for over a week when I happened to discover that the hostel where I was staying had another hostel out in the wilds of Connemara. There were so few people there that I was honestly surprised they were even open in the winter, but it made the entire experience of roaming the Irish countryside on my own so zen and memorable for me.

It was almost as if it were just me and the sheep and the odd car in some remote and forgotten wilderness. And the weather was so incredibly all over the place. One minute rain poured, and then the clouds would part enough for a sun-filled moment to remember like the one pictured here.

It was just what the doctor ordered. As much as I loved Galway, I wouldn't exchange my days in Connemara for anything.Away from the city and able to properly enjoy the amazing vistas that the countryside had to offer... wow... If it's this beautiful in winter, I must return in the summer one day. Except I may not leave if I do!

About Mark Tisdale

Mark Tisdale

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple. My body of work is wide ranging from photographic scenes of far away places, more near and dear locations, and more fanciful artwork. It's all crafted with a heartfelt love for finding the beauty in little captured moments. My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
