It's funny that for some of us we have to go half way around the world to try something truly new. That's how I found myself high above the ground in a hot air balloon in Egypt one morning. It's something I hadn't considered doing before. While not phobic about heights, I've never liked them, but despite that, I can report it was just as serene as it appears in this photo. I'll never forget the amazing Egyptian landscapes stretching out before me. And truly this is an amazing and historic landscape. Those rugged hills and mountains are the legendary Valley of the Kings where pharaohs were elaborately entombed so very long ago.
The experience alone would have been worth it, but as a photographer it was also a constant photo opportunity, between the aerial views below and the views of other balloons floating past on the same breezes. I took literally hundreds of photos, but this was the moment, when dawn was fully upon us, that I decided to enjoy the ride before I saw it all th...
