Gray skies dissipating as a storm clears over the English Chanel. The lighthouse featured is Portland Bill Lighthouse on the Isle of Portland off the coast in Dorset. It was built to replace a pair of older lighthouse in 1903-1905 (first lit in 1906). On the point of land to the left of the lighthouse is The Trinity House Obelisk, an 1844 navigational aid to warn sailors of the rocks.
