One of my favorite churches in Oaxaca was the beautiful baroque beauty of the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzman. It's pretty enough to be a cathedral don't you think? And yet it's not Oaxaca's cathedral, just one of its many beautiful examples of Spanish Colonial architecture. Although I didn't manage to find time to make it inside the church, I was told that this convent and church was built between the 16th and 18th centuries. The church has been beautifully restored and the old convent now houses a museum. Seems fitting I think!

But I didn't make it inside because the views outside around Oaxaca were off the scale. I loved how the skies looked that day and it seemed fitting to combine those gorgeous skies with the beautiful colonial architecture of Oaxca. It's not every day one gets treated to this type of light and skies like that, but I sure wish it was!
