There are times of the day when the sun's angle is just right that you can catch some fantastic reflections in the wet sands of a beach. I was glad to find myself standing on the beach at Tybee Island at just that time! Funny, I had planned to spend my time in nearby Savannah, but much of it was spent with beach sand between my toes?
There's often an element of being ready for the unexpected in photography. I had been taking photos of the beautiful clouds reflecting in the beach sands for awhile. It being Sunday afternoon in late summer, the beach was sparsely populated. And then I heard a bicycle coming. That was the missing element for my composition, someone to exist trapped on the mirror between the golden sands and the heavens. I love the beautiful simplicity of it.
