Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

I've always been fascinated by doors, but I think it was while visiting Merida in the Yucatan state of Mexico that I finally started examining and documenting the architectural details of houses.

I think in part this is because of the very style of homes in the Colonial part of Merida. They aren't set back from the streets. There don't tend to have porches shading them. Doors and windows sit right on the sidewalk begging to be looked at. Begging for attention from passersby.

And quite often, they are the most impressive piece of architecture you can see from the street. So many of the colonial houses have a door and perhaps a couple of windows facing the streets as they have interior courtyards or gardens away from public view.

And perhaps that mystery of what's beyond my view also accounts for my preoccupation with photographing what can be seen. This one particularly called to me. Solid wood, ornate wrought iron, and all set in a bright red wall. What a s...
