Artist's Description

During the time I lived in Atlanta, the Roxy in Buckhead was a live music venue, but historically it's one of a handful of grand old movie theaters that have survived the years.

I sadly never got to see a band play here but have heard it was a favorite venue for many in the city in its heyday. I was booked to see one band here not long before it was shuttered and that act cancelled. Alas!

I've off and on heard snippets of news that the theater was going to be redeveloped. Much of Buckhead was in the process of changing during my last years in the city. I was determined to get a shot of this old marquee, though, for my iconic scenes of Atlanta because I think many who lived in Atlanta in the right time period will remember this sign with much fondness!

About Mark E Tisdale

Mark E Tisdale

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple. My body of work is wide ranging from photographic scenes of far away places, more near and dear locations, and more fanciful artwork. It's all crafted with a heartfelt love for finding the beauty in little captured moments. My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
