For several years I watched a Yoshinio cherry grow from a sapling to a small tree in my suburban back yard. A beautiful tree throughout the year, it was exceptionally beautiful in the spring, a wonderful herald to the new season each year when its delicate blossoms began to burst.
Each spring those cherry blossoms were a font of inspiration, a reason to get out and enjoy the spring weather and to document another wave of blooms.
This cherry blossom piece is based on one of those annual flowerings, a reminder throughout the year of the promise of each new spring.
