Description
The first couple of weeks of my time in Ireland was marked by snow and ice and the coldest winter in decades. Where the snow mostly centered around my time in Dublin, I was amazed to see frozen sea water, not something I'm used to from the southern states in the US. It didn't last long in Galway either. By the time I left, the icy seaside was a thing of the past. Still, the birds in this picture from the Claddagh seem to be taking it in stride, don't they?
Although I liked all of Galway, there was something about the views of The Long Walk from Claddagh quay that most appealed to me. I'm sure it has something to do with those cheerfully colored houses, eh? But it was more than that, I think. Perhaps it was the almost storybook feeling? Wouldn't you half expect to see a photo like this in a dictionary for the entry Irish Seaside?
