My winter trip to Rome was punctuated by some pretty moody weather like seen here. Yet, I couldn't have asked for more dramatic views! There's something truly atmospheric about the view overlooking the Vatican from the nearby Castel Sant'Angelo, don't you think?
It just has moody winter in Europe written all over it. Smoke rising over smokestacks, dense mists. I can almost smell the wet pavement and feel the damp in the air again looking at this view over to St. Peter's basilica.
Ah Rome, even on a gray day a beauty in old world architecture and history!
