This is officially when I fell in love with Tybee Island, my first time there. I had arrived in Savannah in the late afternoon and by the time I was squared away it was already dark and I didn't feel up to figuring out Savannah at night. But I decided I'd love to see the famous Tybee Lighthouse at night.
I drove out beneath dark skies and the stretch between Tybee Island and Savannah on the mainland felt so desolate. When I finally found the lighthouse, it was dark and there was hardly a soul but me standing there. But it was utterly beautiful.
I have taken a ton of artistic license with this image. I was out to capture that romantic feeling that accompanies the lore and legend of lighthouse. I filled the skies with stars, but none so bright as the beacon that rests atop that beautiful Lighthouse on Tybee Island.
