Artist's Description
Historic Trinity College in Dublin was founded in the 16th century, but most of the buildings on campus today are from the 18th century and after. This dining hall just off Parliament Square, an 18th century design, falls into that same category.
I love the neoclassical architecture and it's so grand for a dining hall when compared to my own college experience. But it's most befitting an old university, I think.
The photo that this textured piece of art was based on was taken on a winter's night. The street lamps had switched on but there was still a bit of dusk blue left in the skies. I was going for a painterly illustrated feel to this when I was editing it. I feel it really emphasizes the blues and golds in this image a great deal.
About Mark Tisdale
Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple. My body of work is wide ranging from photographic scenes of far away places, more near and dear locations, and more fanciful artwork. It's all crafted with a heartfelt love for finding the beauty in little captured moments. My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
