Description
Scotland was simply one of those places I had to go someday. And so it was one of the first places outside the US that I traveled. I've been to Edinburgh twice and roamed the highlands for a week and long to go back for a much more in depth visit some day. I was interested for so long because it's the home of multiple branches on my family tree, but I have yet to go to spend time digging through dusty books. My interest in Scotland was seeing the sights, from historic castles to the unimaginable landscapes and the awesome people. And that's what I most want to see again someday.
And that was what was on my mind as I worked on this vintage take on a the National Flag of Scotland, St. Andrew's Cross. I've seen a lot of Saltires waving over the Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh. So when I see this it reminds me of fun times in Scotland as well as ye olde family tree. I think it will have the same effect on many of you out there who either remember fondly a visit there or have Scottish roots. What do you think?
