Artist's Description

Almost every day of my short visit to Paris, I roamed the banks of the River Seine, and there's an incredibly rich tapestry of architecture crowding along the river in that ancient city. It makes sense of course, not so very long ago, rivers were our highways! And the Seine looks like an amazing highway, so of course, some of your best buildings are on that desirable river frontage.

The Louvre Palace, now one of the world's greatest museums, has prime real estate on the Seine and what a statement it makes from the river, don't you think! It definitely states regal rather loudly.

The Louvre like many long-lived buildings is a mixture of centuries of architectural styles, but I believe this section facing the river is part of the French Renaissance Style. In black and white, the graphic quality of that old world architecture really stands out.

About Mark Tisdale

Mark Tisdale

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple. My body of work is wide ranging from photographic scenes of far away places, more near and dear locations, and more fanciful artwork. It's all crafted with a heartfelt love for finding the beauty in little captured moments. My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
