Artist's Description
My first week in Galway was marked by a fog that grew more day by day. Most of those days, it would burn off by afternoon, but on the penultimate day, the fog never lifted. The entire city was shrouded in fog and mist and it made for a magical feel for that city on Galway Bay in Ireland's west.
This is The Long Walk as viewed from the Claddagh. The lnadscape beyond it is completely obscured in the mists lending a very ethereal feel to the waterfront.
Years later I can still look at this and feel the eerie stillness of that moment. The sound of birds and the water seemed to echo out of nowhere and there was a true feeling of what it might be like to wander lost in a never-ending fog.
