Description
When I was little, one of my favorite books was a children's book called the Little House That Moved. This home in Montezuma may be the not so little house that moved. There was originally a community in Macon County Called Traveler's Rest.
When the railroad crossed the Flint River at what is now Montezuma, most of the people of Traveler's Rest picked up stakes and moved to be near the railroad and Traveler's Rest dwindled away. In some instances, it wasn't just the people who moved. This old house was moved from there in 1885.
