There's just something about the sea. When I see the horizon, I will always think of the places that lie beyond. And in essence, the sea and the distant horizon become an abstract metaphor of life in general. It's a beautiful experience as long as you enjoy the moment and keep an eye on those distant horizons.
This particular seaside is based loosely on photos from a long ago visit to the West Coast where I spent the day bouncing from beach to beach north of Santa Cruz. The colors of the sky that evening as the sun set on the pacific were used in this image.
I can't help but wax a little poetic about the seaside and this captures so many of those emotions in a visual form.
