Our every day lives often influence so many decisions. My every day life when I lived in Atlanta revolved around technology and office parks. My weekend excursions were often fully the reverse, an attempt to see nature and escape the suburban jungle.

That was how one bright summer morning found me walking along the trails at Sweetwater Creek State park. This beautiful landscape is thanks to a preserved bit of Georgia within an easy drive from all that suburbia I was intent on escaping. And yet, as I stood there, with the water rushing by and the golden light from above, I felt so peaceful and so far away from the city. I wish more pockets of nature like this existed. They are so important to us all in one form or another.

Sweetwater Creek was not as near to me as some other nature spots in North Georgia, though, so my experience of this beautiful place was fleeting, just that one visit. The result is that when I look at it years later, it has taken on a dreamlike qualit...

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple. My body of work is wide ranging from photographic scenes of far away places, more near and dear locations, and more fanciful artwork.
