On my so far only trip to Central America, the bulk of my time was was spent in Nicaragua, which was gorgeous. My time was limited and I only saw just a little of Costa Rica's beautiful landscapes. What I did see, like this beautiful beach in Guanacaste Province, left me longing for more!

This beach is aptly named Playa Hermosa, and it was my first golden sunset of the trip. Watching the sun sink into the sea from a beautiful beach was the kind of occasion where you feel obligated to throw around words like paradise! Although, honestly, Pura Vida seems to fit quite well!

I think sometimes the best pictures let you make up the story for yourself. Were these two brothers, best friends? I don't know but the picture speaks to camaraderie and a sense of the fraternal that often transcends blood. And that's how the title "Stand By Me" sprang to mind when I first edited this picture several years ago.
