When we visited the Isle of Skye, the little village there at Kilmuir that preserves the traditional way of life in the Highlands was closed. I wish I could have gotten a closer look at the beautiful old thatched houses, but even without that up close visit, they were quite striking sitting on the seaside on the Isle of Skye. It felt like every vista on this beautiful island was dramatic and beautiful! I still pinch myself sometimes thinking that Skye must have been a dream.
At any rate, it's awesome that they have preserved the past of island life on Skye, but there's a part of me that looks at this traditional cottage and just wants to call it home. It has such a warm and homey feel doesn't it?
