This photo art is based off a photo from the North Georgia mountains. It was late in the afternoon and I had spent the day hunting down scenic overlooks to see and photograph the changing fall colors. I have no idea where precisely I ran across this scene, but I remember having to part a ways down the road to walk back along a narrow shoulder to get the same vantage point I had seen driving by a few minutes before.
The light was incredible. The autumn colors were not in full effect yet at this point, but there was just enough to have a clear feeling of fall in the mountains in the air.
Years later, I re-discovered this almost forgotten photo when I was doing a 365 day art project. I decided to layer this photo with a variety of layers to create a vintage painterly feel. And it never fails to remind me of sweet autumns past.
