Description
When I lived north of Atlanta, one of my favorite weekend pastimes was pointing the car north and wandering into the north Georgia mountains, particularly in the fall.
It was in the fall that North Georgia particularly shone for me. The landscapes dripped with autumn color that each years seemed more spectacular than the one before.
I have also always had a particular fascination for reflecting scenes. Be they reflections in water or glass, there's just something ethereal and borderline abstract about the world reflected in glass.
The day I visited Amicalola Falls, I had the opportunity to combine so many of my favorite subjects at once. On my way down after seeing the falls, I spotted this beautiful little pool or pond. The water was from the falls but was so still and the sun was just right. The reflecting fall color in the pool of still water was a show stopper for me.
Of the many shots I took standing on the water's edge, this was my favorite. I love the almost painterly feel to the trees in the water. Something of a natural impressionist painting, I think?
I could get lost again gazing at this abstract fall reflection, can't you?
