It's been several years since my trip to the California coast, but the climax of that day wandering the coast was no doubt stumbling upon Pigeon Point Lighthouse as I made my way north on Highway 1. It was an afternoon filled with beautiful scenic seaside landscapes overlooking the Pacific, but finding Pigeon Point Lighthouse just as the late afternoon sun was shining so brilliantly was truly a stroke of good fortune in a day of abundant good luck!
After wandering on the beach south of the lighthouse for awhile, I decided to see what the view looked like on the other side.
I'll never forget seeing this view for the first time and knowing I had to find a way to stop to capture this beautiful scene! I still remember scrambling over jagged rocks to find the perfect spot to capture the moment.
So many places I'd like to see again and Pigeon Point Lighthouse is one of them. Honestly I'm not sure I would top that first encounter as all the elements for a beautiful pictu...
