Description
I only spent a few days on the Georgia coast, but my visit to Savannah and Tybee Island has left me wanting for more. I'm sure I could stand on those stretches of beach sand for hours and never lack for visual inspiration!
As my last day drew to a close, I switched to long exposures of the beach on Tybee. The beach wasn't crowded but it's even more empty in this view because people had to stand still to register at all, the exposure were that long, but if you look closely you'll still see a few 'ghosts' on the pier, people who stopped to gaze at the sea and were just still enough to register as fleeting figures.
The long exposure also accounts fro the mists that seem to rise over the still waters of the ocean. The ocean was not actually still, you simply can't see the waves. Their motion is to rapid and what gets records is the ghosts of those waves, their misty ether hanging in the air in a most beautiful way.
