Artist's Description

It's hard to imagine Atlanta today without the Fox Theatre, but it nearly came to pass in the 1970s. The Fabulous Fox is a story of a community that wasn't willing to let the wrecking ball remove all of the city's history. Most of the grand movie palaces of the early 20th century had already vanished from the streets of Atlanta, but the Fox would be saved.

By the time I was living in Atlanta, this was distant history but an oft repeated story. That eclectic pile of architecture on Peachtree Street is very much an esteemed citizen of the city.

The exterior of the Fox Theatre only hints at the mix of themes, principally Moorish, that dwells inside. It was very much an early 20th century piece of fantasy architecture, a place to escape the real world.

When I started seeking out the landmarks of Atlanta, there was never any question the Fabulous Fox was high on that list.

Mark Tisdale

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
