Artist's Description

Based on an historical painting by New England artist, Marshall Johnson, JR, who was a well known artist in the 1880s and 1890's. When I saw his work, originally published by the Detroit Publishing Company, I loved the action of that massive and well known frigate, Old Ironsides, aka the USS constitution. The lines of the ship and her full sails are very much modeled after his work as I loved the sense of light and detail to them. You can practically feel the wind on the sea can't you?

You can see the black and white copy published by Detroit Publishing here:

My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
