Description
Part of a series of Union Jack flags that I'm working on. Most of them will likely have place names on them, but every so often, inspiration strikes and doesn't involve a British place name.
This is based off one of my photos of the Palace of Westminster, AKA Parliament, from my last trip to Britain, looking across the river Thames from the south bank - a truly iconic vista of that landmark Gothic Revival architecture.
It includes "Big Ben" as its commonly known, the great clock tower. Of course, most anglophiles will know that Big Ben is actually the bell inside that iconic clock and the tower itself was recently named for Queen Elizabeth II.
The backdrop of course is the equally iconic British flag, the Union Jack or Union Flag. The colors and textures suggest a well-worn old flag!
It's been far too long since I stood on those river banks and looked at the real thing, but this definitely puts me in that British frame of mind!
