Description
My first and so far only trip to Paris was in January of 2010. I was there just a short time, and in winter that could have meant a lot of time in museums instead of wandering the streets with my camera. It was a calculated risk as it was primarily an opportunity to experience Paris. As it turned out, I had an unbelievable streak of sunlit days in the dead of a cold European winter.
And the day that I spent exploring Notre dame de Paris was the best day of them all. As you can tell from this photo of the famous French Gothic Cathedral, the skies were picturesque and the sunlight was really powerful!
I long to go back to this incredible city. As much as I've loved other cities I've traveled to see over the years, it was Paris that I consider the most picturesque of them all. It is a city full of history, beautiful architecture, and at least based on my short trip, beautiful light.
Note: Notre Dame de Paris is a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site.
