Arriving in Asheville, NC, several years ago, I knew very little about the city aside from Biltmore House being there. But it only took a few seconds roaming the historic downtown of Asheville to spot one of its beautiful old skyscrapers, the Jackson Building, built in 1924. It's Neo-Gothic architecture was very eye-catching, and it wasn't at all surprising to discover this building is an iconic piece of the Asheville skyline.
I was only in Asheville a short time but that brief exposure to this charming city has kept it high on my list of must re-visit cites.
