Description
Some of my earliest memories of life in Montezuma surround the old railroad depot in the heart of downtown. But in those early memories, the depot never looked as nice as it does today after being renovated and restored for life as the Macon County Museum.
Built in 1890 in the Queen Anne style, the depot was one of two in town illustrating how important the railroad was to the history of this small town.
Trains still pass through Montezuma regularly today but no longer stop for passengers or freight at the old depot, but it still remains very symbolic of Montezuma even in a post-railroad era.
On this particular early autumn afternoon, there was such a timeless feel to this scene - was it 2000-and-something or 1930? That was the reason for the vintage texture and color that I embellished this with.
