Description
Among my favorite moments roaming in Ireland was the morning we stopped at the medieval monastic ruins of Ross Errilly Friary near Galway City. There was just something magical about these weathered walls standing with only the sky as a roof.
I still remember being pressed up against those cold stone walls waiting... I had heard birds stirring within the walls and hoped that they would fly in my direction when they flew. Surely enough they came soaring out over the gable window of the room where I stood.
It would have been a magical place without that little flourish, but capturing the birds in flight over the roofless monastic ruins was the finishing touch for me.
This is also available in color. It's presented here in B&W by special request. I like them both on their own merits. Be sure to check out my gallery to decide which is best for you.
