This picture of a beautiful little golden mystery flower has long been a personal favorite.

That's why I've always been sorry that I couldn't identify the flower type. I spotted this growing wild at Ano Nuevo State Park during a visit to Northern California several years ago.

A friend believes it may be Grassyleaf Goldenaster which looks possible but is not native to that part of the country. I'm going with that identification for the moment because there were other non-native plants growing there, but I'd love for someone who has a definitive answer to identify my lovely little golden flower some day!

Until then it remains a simply beautiful moment in the sun saved from years ago.
