Artist's Description
I visited the village of St Albans on a late summer day, and coincidentally it turned out to the day the locals celebrate the heritage of their little village, which is a half hour train ride from London. In days long gone, this was a over-night-stop for the carriages going to and from London. Today it's a bedroom community for commuters.
The clock tower that dominates the center of the village was built in the 15th century and nearly demolished in the 18th. I'm glad they renovated it rather than taking the easy way out as it's apparently one of the only ones of that vintage that survives in Britain.
On the day that I visited St Albans, admission to climb the tower was free but as you can see there was a crowd and I never got the chance to see the village from up high! Still, I loved the scale the crowds of people waiting their turn gives this picture of that old medieval tower.
About Mark E Tisdale

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple. My body of work is wide ranging from photographic scenes of far away places, more near and dear locations, and more fanciful artwork. It's all crafted with a heartfelt love for finding the beauty in little captured moments. My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
