For me personally Manchester springs to mind whenever I think of modern Britain. Manchester was literally on the cutting edge of the world we know today with the first Railway station. So it's place as the city where the railroad was born seems secure!
It was that place as a big industrial city in the UK that insured an early spot in my collection of Union Jacks illustrated with various place names around Great Britain.
Each of my British Union Jacks are individually created and distressed for that time worn vintage look I personally find so appealing. And it seems fitting to represent the place names of a country with such a long and storied past as the United Kingdom! And of course, how can you get more iconic than the Union Jack itself?
